Classes November 28, 2006

I’m feeling you all out on this one so you have to tell me what your experience was with it.  Topic?  Childbirth classes.

I feel like I’ve probably researched so much on my own that it would be a waste of time and money.  I plan on an epidural asap and there’s not much you can do to stop labor.  You just have to find your own coping mechanism.  It might help Elvee not be as freaked but who knows.  So, what was your personal experience?  Did you do them and it was a waste?  Did it help?  Did you not do it and wish you had?  (that’s my fear)

Oh My God! November 27, 2006

I was sitting like this like I always do when I am on the computer.  My feet are up on the desk and I am leaned back in the office chair with my hand resting on my belly.

I felt Gage kicking so I decided to lift my shirt up a bit to see if I could possibly see him kick from the outside.  WOW!  My whole belly did what looked like a wave.  He must have been rolling over in there.  Amazing.  Nothing short of amazing.  I even saw a few little brief kicks in one spot after that.  I can’t wait for Elvee to see this for himself!

We (he) finished Gage’s room this weekend.  It is so cute.  We only need the bedding (which is in the works) and another shelf thing for next to the changing table.  We both keep going in there and just looking around.  Fun stuff.  You can see the set of the room here and some of his outfits here.

Like the rest of my oddly textbook pregnancy, today was no different.  Elvee felt Gage kick from the outside today from the first time.  I’m so happy for him.  I’ve been feeling it for months now and the kicking has gotten pretty strong lately.  It’s awesome for him to share that with me.  I thought that maybe I was just feeling it with my hand because it was happening to me, but nope… he felt it today – 24 weeks, 4 days.

I took a pic this week because I have been feeling rounder.  I wanted to see.  I guess it’s a little rounder at the top.  The whole set is here.

I stole this idea from another blogger that did a similar painting.  Her’s was a “martini” theme and different colors but the idea is the same.  So, if you think you’ve seen something like this before, you probably have.  However, I really like my version.  This is going to hang in his room.

What No One Wants To Tell You About Pregnancy Because You Would Never Have Kids November 16, 2006

1. I love how eloquently the lady asked this question. However, yeah I am a little worried about this happening to me especially since I go about once a week.

2. I thought so on this one. It only makes sense. I can tell you no one talks about this out loud.

3. I am reading “The Baby Whisperer” and the author talks about coming home and suddenly feeling like “what have we done?” I can see that happening to anyone. You are suddenly a parent. Your once quiet home is now turned upside down by this little person. I know you love that baby like there is nothing in the world, but feeling like that can only be normal.

Aren’t you glad I shared? I’m sure I’ll think of more things as I progress. Only my brain keeps lists that are this messed up.

I got this on Craigslist from a lady that has used it about 4 times. It is in perfect condition. It sells for $150 and I paid $50.

23 Week Doctor Visit November 13, 2006

Yeast infection?….check.  Bacterial infection?….check.  Bladder infection?….check. $60 worth of prescriptions and I am ready to roll.

I have not gained any weight this month.  That puts me at a total of about 8 pounds for this whole pregnancy.  Not complaining one bit.  Gage had hiccups during today’s visit.  It was cool.  She did the doppler to listen to his heart and told me that he was a “firecracker” because he was moving so much.  Doc asked me if I had been having contractions yet and I was like “no, what would that feel like?”  He said it kind of feels like a sit up.  Yeah, like I remember what that feels like.  Anyway, apparently I could start feeling that any day now.  Scary.  This is going by pretty fast now, especially with the holidays right in the middle of it.  I go for my 28 week/Glucose Screening next visit and then I start going every 2 weeks after that.  I’ll be meeting my little Bubba pretty soon now really.  He is going to be the cutest, most well dressed little guy ever.  I just know it.

You were right. The miserable, itchy yeast/bacterial infection was not fun enough. I really needed the bladder infection to make this a party!
